What do you do if you are the Cash Surfing Network and you need a new leader?

Well you call for the doctor obviously.

Urgent medical intervention was needed yesterday when Corina Ungureanu announced that she was stepping down as team leader.

“Is there a doctor on board?,” came the urgent cry as a replacement was needed.

Luckily there was and Dr John – team member John Novak – was installed as the new team leader.

His team currently has its full complement of 25 members and is currently in fourth place in the Legacy Hits Division.

Overall CSN is currently bottom of the division with just 22 out of a possible 60 points this season so it will be interesting to see what treatment plan the good doctor prescribes.

Finally in other team gossip, did I detect a hint of dissent in TELive yesterday within a team where the leader has asked every member to surf more than 1,000 pages of Sweeva for at least one day every week?

Easy Team joins CTP Teams for S4 W1 D1

Yesterday was the start of the two-week pre-season for Season Three and a great day to start a new team.

It was also the day that CTP Member Debra Chism decided to upgrade to Kore4 and launch her own team called Easy Team.

The reason that I know is that Debra announced her new team in CTP Chat and that is probably why she was able to pick up two new members almost immediately.

And it was not long before people started to congratulate her on the first team to start on the first day of the new season…

Jon also mentioned the new team on yesterday’s CTP Teams special edition of TELive where the whole show was devoted to talking about the new season.

Also a special mention for Scott Rohn from Cash Surfing Network who recently signed up to Kore4 for the next 12 months because he likes the ultimate TimTech upgrade so much.

Scott is a regular at TELive, is well known for his creative splash pages and video splash pages and is a veteran of CTP who has already made a huge impact for his team during the first two seasons and is sure to do the same for Season Three.

Way to go Debra and Scott.

13 Weeks in a row at the top of CTP Teams for SurfAholics Alpha

SurfAholics Alpha has just notched up 13 unbroken weeks at number one. Right now they look to be untouchable when it comes to CTP Teams.

Lucky 13 members try their hardest every week to make inroads and knock them off the top spot but nothing they have done in recent weeks has worked.

Could it be that – for this season at least – the Alphas are unbeatable? There were very clear divisions between the top five teams this week but further down the table it was a much different story.

Look how close the gap was between Surf Lovers and Dream Team and between The Strays and Hunters. But for what must be the closest ever finish between two teams since we started this contest look at CSN in 11th place and TE Racing League in 12th…just under 21,000 points separated those two – that is virtually nothing when it comes to CTP Teams.

Right now (6.30am Eastern) Lucky 13 are starting the week on top with Alphas second, Uber Surfers third and The Strays up three places to fourth.

Dream Team, Bonz Brigade and Hunters all moved up a division this week, with the first two out of the danger zone so far and Hunters with work to do already if they are not to go back down next week.

CSN, Strays Team Bee and TE Racing League are all adjusting to life in the Competitive League this week.

Finally two of the smaller teams are doing remarkably well so far this week. Life Timer is up six places from last week to lead the Competitive League while Dr Kelp’s Racers is up seven to third place. The remarkable thing about both of these teams is that each has just ten members a piece.

As ever good luck everyone and…have fun.

The Sweeva Surf Party settled into its new time slot yesterday and proved to be a huge CTP Teams event.

Sweeva has always been a site where people have come to test out new ideas, get instant feedback and show off their creativity.

In addition the SSP is becoming a cool weekly hangout for members of CTP teams to get together and hang out for an hour while showing the community what makes each team unique.

The one thing Jon has always said about traffic exchange advertising is be different and don’t use the same pages as everyone else is using…well the SSP is the living embodiment of that in action.

There are so many unique, highly individualized, team-centric and eye-catchingly stunning splash pages showcased at the Sweeva Surf Party that it is a joy to see.

Teams and individual advertisers are now using the SSP as the venue to officially unveil new creations to the community and I can’t think of a better venue to do so.

When Jon does his magic to convert the credits used for winning bids into XP and then gives away XP for the top three teams and individual surfers that just adds to the atmosphere.

This week we broke records again…we had 11 teams taking part and seven people ended up winning XP on the individual splash page contest.

In the team contest we had the usual epic battle between Lucky 13 and Cash Surfing Network for first and second spots. There was a second battle this week for third and fourth places between Uber Surfers and SurfAholics Alpha which made the teams contest even more interesting. The overall result could not have been closer. Lucky 13 – which started with a one point lead for getting a splash posted on the CTP Teams blog a few days previously – won by just one point.

So this has given me an idea. I would like to give Cash Surfing Network the same opportunity to start next week’s competition with one point already in the bank.

To do this all I need is for any member of CSN to Skype me an original splash page which contains the words “Patrick Griffin sucks…” and which contains the CSN team logo before midnight Eastern on Sunday night.

If you do this then the page will get shown on this blog and you will go into next week’s SSP with +1 for the team page score…basically the same deal that Lucky 13 took advantage of the previous week.

So talking about scores this is the way things looked at the end of yesterday’s epic battle which saw the most XP ever awarded for the individual contest as so many people tied with the numbers of page views:

1. Lucky 13 – 36 pages – 50K XP

2. CSN – 35 pages – 25K XP

3. Uber Surfers – 15 pages – 10K XP

=1 Sabrina Traversa and Norbert Lander – 50K XP each

2 Boris – 25K XP

=3 Tom Wacker, Eric Goettman, Rhonda Pizor and Marian Gurowicz – 10K XP each
