Uber Surfers take Week 10 of Season Two of CTP Teams to tie the season with SurfAholics Alpha for a joint season win

Season Two of CTP Teams ended about as dramatically as it was possible to get.

For most of the early part of the week it was neck-and-neck between Season One champions SurfAholics Alpha and Uber Surfers.

Then the Alphas began to slowly edge forward in the final few days to the point that with just minutes to go to yesterday’s deadline they were around eight billion points in the lead.

Maybe they thought they had the win in the bag – winning Week 10 would have won them the entire season outright and making them the sole winners of the first two seasons of CTP Teams.

However Uber Surfers had other ideas and, with a last minute push to close the gap, they gave it their all…and succeeded with more than one billion points to spare.

That final effort means that Alphas and Ubers are joint winners of Season Two – each with 651 season points. Lucky 13 came in third place for Week 10 and also take third place for the season with 639 season points.

Top Three CTP Teams teams as Season Two reached a dramatic climax after 10 weeks of competition.

The end of the season was so close that Jon Olson posted to Facebook: “What an absolute EPIC end to Season 2 of ‪#‎CTPTeams.

“With only seconds to go, the Uber Surfers come back and TIE to co-win the Season….Huge congrats to both the Ubers and SurfAholics Alpha…Lucky 13 and all the teams…Wow.

I’m Speechless. What a come back!!! Last second….Crazy finish!”

And to Twitter…

Very little separated these two top teams during the entire season and, in the end, very little separated them in the final week. The fact that they both share the top spot for Season Two just shows how evenly matched these teams were.

Don’t miss today’s TELive at 4pm Eastern where Jon Olson will unveil details of what is in store for all new  Season Three at CTP Teams.

CTP Teams S3 top three teams as of S2 W10 D7 H23After ten weeks of intense competition, a sprinkling of surprises, the odd drizzle of drama and all seasoned with strategy, Season Two of CTP Teams is drawing to a close.

With less than an hour to go, SurfAholics Alpha has opened up an eight billion point lead over second placed Uber Surfers and Lucky 13 is comfortably in third place with more than nine billion points.

Barring any last minute surprises – and I am not ruling anything out – that is likely to be how the top three finish but we will leave any more about the finish until tomorrow.

For now I want to praise every single team and every single team member who took part in season two of this remarkable team competition.

Whether you were able to play every day, every week or just now and again then you made a difference and you will have learned valuable lessons about working as a team.

Every team faces its own challenges and ever member of every team has their individual challenges to work with as they also work on progressing within CTP Teams.

To this extent, CTP Teams mirrors some of what it is like to work online and to be in the business of making money online. Each of us come to the table with our own set of individual circumstances, problems, challenges, skills and knowledge.

Trying to improve out strengths while we overcome our weaknesses is vital to getting the best out of our online work and it is so much more difficult if we try to do this on our own.

By joining up with like-minded people then we can progress much faster and CTP Teams has shown how this has already worked so very well for many members of this awesome community.

So as we look forward to Season Three continue to work on building your own brand, work on building your reputation in the community and work on building relationships with other members of the community.

I am really looking forward to what is in store. I think it is going to be a really fantastic journey for us all.

CTP Teams top teams at S2 W10 D3

As we prepare to say goodbye to Season Two of CTP Teams we are seeing a real change from last week where SurfAholics Alpha quickly built up a massive lead on the rest of the pack.

This week it is super close throughout the two leagues and especially at the top where Uber Surfers have been swapping places with Alphas on a regular basis – right now the two top teams could not be more equally matched.

As the screenshot above shows, it is even closer between many of the teams, especially from places five through to 12.

This is an exciting end to an exciting season and, as ever, I am not making any predictions. In fact this week I am not even going to predict whether Lucky 13 will end up in third place.

SurfAholics Alpha win S2 W9 in CTP Teams

Season Two of CTP Teams is now in its final week and everything is still to play for.

A few minutes ago SurfAholics Alpha took week nine in what was one of the easiest weeks of the entire contest but will Week Ten prove to be such a pushover for the winning team?

A margin of 40.6 billion points to 23.6 billion points earned by second placed Uber Surfers really is a dramatic win but it neither guarantees a win in the final week nor does it mean that winning week ten will be easy for any team.

With just one more season point than Ubers, a win this week would seal the season for the Alphas while a win for Ubers would see both teams level on points.

CTP Season Points for top three teams at end of S2 W9 in CTP Teams

I was right in saying that Lucky 13 would come in third place this week and I will stick my neck out and say they will also come in third place this week too.

Hits WorkForce, Dream Team and In To Win are the three Competitive League teams who all made it into the upper league for the final week of this current season so well done to them for the achievement.

The OutKasts didn’t win anything this week and this makes them happy…this is a team which revels in its inability to win anything…ever.

As we enter the final week of CTP Teams this is how the leaderboard looked just a few seconds after the clock struck midnight…

How CTP Teams leaderboard looks in first few seconds of S2 W10 D1

With so little data to go on the numbers are rather meaningless but it is still interesting to see how things look in the early stages of a week. Maybe it is more accurate to say that it is interesting to me at least, of not to others.

As always have fun with the final week of this season and now our thoughts are already turning to Season Theee. There will be more details of what the new season has to offer just as soon as everything has been finalized.

Have a great week everyone.

Top three teams in CTP Teams Premier League S2 W9 D6

With almost a 12 billion point lead over their nearest rivals, SurfAholics Alpha are determined to make week nine theirs as they push to win Season Two of CTP Teams.

Currently neck-and-neck on season points with second-placed Uber Surfers, either of these two top teams could take the honors – however if Ubers plan to pounce then they had better do it soon.

Lucky 13 is in third place, their natural home in CTP Teams so far and the top eight teams have all amassed more than one billion points during this week of competition.

The OutKasts – the team which prides itself in being the only team which is guaranteed never to win anything – is number four in the Competitive League but looks to be in no danger of gracing the Premier League with its presence this season.

Apart from Beginners and Winners and WealthBuilders swapping positions with each other, the Premier League table is in much the same order as it was at the start of this week.

In the Competitive League, Hits WorkForce and Dream Team were the only two teams to amass more than a billion points this week and they are both very close to each other in the top two spots. Whatever happens it looks certain that they will end Season Two in the Premier League and In To Win should also join them for Week 10.

There is, as ever, still a lot to play for. Good luck everyone.

The top three teams at the end of Season Two will share a $2,500 prize pool, Jon Olson announced yesterday in TELive.

The prizes will be broken down as follows…

First place – $1,750

Second place – $500

Third place – $250

This is a huge increase over Season One where the prize fund worked out at $142 for each of the 35 weeks of competition. In contrast the current prize pool is $250 a week this season – an increase of more than 75%.

The prizes will be awarded to the team leaders and it will be up to them how it is distributed within their teams.

For Season Three we plan to shake things up a bit in order to make the contest more exciting for all teams – no matter where their position is within CTP Teams.

In order to make the necessary changes there will be another break between seasons – at least one week and possibly two – but we will keep let you know for sure as soon as the dates are finalized.

We have big plans for Season Three and it is fair to say that we will be changing things up quite a bit and we feel sure that you will like the new format.

Jon and I gave some hints in TELive yesterday about some of the changes, and in case you were not there, then this is a recap:

+ Season Three will be longer than Season Two (but shorter than Season One)

+ There will be an integral ‘pre-season’ element at the beginning – the pre-season phase of the contest will be a very important part of Season Three

+ The aim is to announce the structure of the season in advance and then not make any changes for the entire season. We do reserve the right to make changes for operational reasons but will endeavor not to do so unless strictly necessary.

That is about as much as I can say for now…but rest assured, I will be telling all very soon indeed.

Enjoy the rest of Season Two. Tom Wacker predicted a win for SurfAholics Alpha on his show yesterday and he could well be right. However there is virtually nothing at all separating Alphas from Walter Mulder’s Uber Surfers so the winner will be which of the two teams has the better strategy in these final two weeks.

Both teams are easily capable of winning and both are made up of strong, dedicated and resourceful players so it will be an epic battle of two very deserving CTP Teams giants.

I will make one prediction though…Lucky 13 will finish the season in third place.

SurfAholics Alpha trophy count at end of S2 W8

After one of the most controversial weeks in CTP Teams, SurfAholics Alpha took the Premier League by a landslide to end their four week spell without a win.

Terry Allison’s team won by 45.8 billion points to 25.0 billion points earned by second placed Uber Surfers in a week which saw Lucky 13 come in third with 7.6 billion points.  (The top eight teams broke the billion point barrier last week.)

In fact the scale of the win was so huge that there were calls for the Alphas to divulge exactly what their team strategy was and explain how they won.

There was even a call for the Alphas to be investigated to determine whether they had broken any rules and a whisper that this was team that TimTech wanted to win.

So let me make it absolutely crystal clear to everyone. TimTech does not support or favor any one team over any other, does not give extra help an any team and nor does it seek to hinder the performance of any team.

If SurfAholics Alpha want to tell the world what they did last week that is up to them, but if they choose to keep their team tactics to themselves then that is also up to them. The same applies to every other team within the contest.

Season Two points table as of end of S2 W8

So as we move into the penultimate week of this season – we are now into week nine of ten for Season Two – there is still everything to play for.

Both Alphas and Ubers are tied on 516 points and Lucky 13 are in third place with 507 points. Looks like it is going to be a rather explosive end to Season Two. Good luck everyone and have fun.

The activity within all sections of CTP Teams continues to be really impressive.

In fact, as I was looking at the league tables a few moments ago I could only find five teams who were in the same position as they were at the end of last week.

The biggest change is for Emporia Systems which has risen 14 places from 53 last week to 39th place right now and Team Mavericks is not far behind with a 12 point leap from 55th to 43rd place.

The most common shift this week is a jump up of four places and the most common downwards move is by three places.

The thing that really leaps out at me is that, certainly for the vast majority of teams within the Competitive League, relatively modest levels of increased team activity can have a dramatic impact on the overall standings.

I think this is a very important thing to keep in mind as we prepare for the start of Season Three…regular team activity can have a massive positive impact on team league positions.

One person trying to earn points for eight hours a day will make a difference and could certainly make a really significant difference.

However an entire team putting in just one hour every day, especially when working on an overall team strategy, could see seismic shifts in team fortunes.

It is certainly something to think about, and plan for, as we look forward to Season Three.

However, back in the here and now, Season Two is still going very strongly indeed.

CTP Teams Premier League mid table S2 W8 D5

The biggest battle going on right now is for fifth, sixth and seventh place where hardly anything at all separates Dream Team, Beginners and Winners and Renegades.

Interestingly the top two of those teams were not even in the Premier League last week so they really have it all to play for.

Right now Ubers are first with a sizeable lead over the Alphas and Lucky 13 are third. If I was a betting man, that is how I would predict the top three teams to remain on Sunday night…however CTP Teams is far from predictable so I won’t be placing any bets.

As Week 8 now enters its final stage it only remains for me to say…good luck everyone and have fun.

I have just looked down the list of all 64 teams and do you have any idea how many are currently in the same position as they ended last week?

The answer is…seven. With three weeks to go in season two there is a huge amount of activity right across the two divisions and that is exactly how we wanted it to be.

It also looks like Uber Surfers didn’t take too kindly to Lucky 13 claiming top spot last week and I wouldn’t be surprised if they have vowed to do all in their power to try to ensure it does not happen two weeks in a row.

I have no insider information for this conclusion but looking at the points gap between the two teams I suspect I may be right.

Uber Surfers lead CTP Teams S2 W8 D2

Yesterday Tom Wacker predicted that SurfAholics Alpha would make a move to claim this week…that very well may be true but with Ubers coming out of the gate at a fast and furious pace it will not be easy.

We spoke about CTP Teams quite a lot in TELive yesterday, it is amazing how this competition has grown and become so vibrant in just a few short months.

We also spoke about Kore4 – the ultimate TimTech upgrade and Janelle then surprised everyone by deciding to offer 2 million XP for anyone who decided to join Kore4.

I thought it was a great offer, but not everyone was at TELive yesterday and not everyone follows Janelle on twitter, although they really should.

So I thought I would use the power of the CTP Teams blog to make it even better.

I want as many people as possible to see how a Kore4 upgrade could make a difference that the offer will be extended until midnight Eastern on Friday.

Why do I want to do this? Well I think now would be a good time to prepare for CTP Teams Season Three…and getting that Kore4 upgrade sorted out right now while you plan your team strategy may just give your team the advantage to make a real impact next season.

So if you want all the amazing benefits of Kore4 and 2 million XP as a nice extra bonus then now is the time to act. Get in touch with Janelle (or send a support ticket) when you upgrade and she will sort out the bonus XP for you.

Lucky 13 Win CTP Teams S2 W7 contest

There is no doubt that Lucky 13 went all out to win last weeks CTP Teams contest…and win it they did.

Former team leader Tom Wacker said as much as his show a week ago today and the team put all they had into securing victory.

It is the first time in season two that any team other than Uber Surfers or SurfAholics Alpha has come in first. Alphas won the first three weeks, Ubers won the next three and Lucky 13 have claimed week seven.

I had an idea that this would be a fiercely fought contest and I was right. All through the weekend the top two teams flip flopped on the leaderboard as no sooner did one gain a slight advantage than the other took it away again.

There was to be no run-away victory again this week and while, at one point, it looked as though the Ubers had done enough to claim victory, Lucky 13 snatched it at the end.

Tom Wacker, writing in the Lucky 13 blog today, said: “It was an epic, hard fought battle, but the L13 beat out the Ubers and SAA to win their first week of the season.  It was really, really close, and wasn’t finally decided until the very stroke of midnight.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be a member of Lucky 13 this week.  We took on the challenge and every single member busted a gut to achieve our goal.  What an effort and what a week. It was a very good run, and we can be proud of ourselves as a team.  We really did well.”

There was, once again, a huge points gap between the top three teams and the rest of the pack. CSN came in a comfortable fourth but the points spread in the teams immediately below them was relatively narrow.

Dream Team, Beginners and Winners and In To Win all moved up a league yesterday; they had their places taken by The Strays, Surf Lovers and Bad Surfers.

We are now into  week eight of the current season which means there are just three more weeks to go. Right now the top of the Season Points table looks like this:

1. Uber Surfers – 451 points

2. SurfAholics Alpha – 450 points

3. Lucky 13 – 443 points

4. Renegades – 430 points

5. Cash Surfing Network – 424 points

So as we enter a new week, keep going strong no matter where you happen to be in CTP Teams and, above all, have fun.

See you all for TELive at 4pm Eastern. Hope you can make it.
