The True Spirit Of CTP Teams

If I have learned one thing in life, whether it be socially or in a work environment, then it is this; you can never hope to please everybody.

And so it is the same in CTP Teams – most people really love it but there is are some every now and again who only see the negatives in anything which transpires.

In these cases I always try to suggest that people see the bigger picture…CTP Teams is about far more than sufing for credits and gaining XP…it really is.

So in the last 24 hours there are three things which happened which really showed me that so many of you do see the bigger picture.

Here are the three:

  1. reading the overwhelmingly positive comments on this blog day after day where people take time to encourage others and celebrate their achievements on a public platform.
  2. attending Tom Wacker’s spreecast yesterday where there was a great discussion about CTP Teams and the potential it brings to the industry…if you have not been to one of Tom’s shows then you really must do so.
  3. reading the SurfAholics blog post by Matt Badura titled ‘Giving Credit Where It Is Due‘ – advice that we all should take on board.

So to everyone on CTP Teams I have only one thing to say to you…thanks all for being so awesome.

  2. Georgia says:

Thanks for being awesome everyone. I really enjoy surfing with all of you.

  3. Matt Badura says:

Sometimes it’s difficult to look at the larger picture, especially when one is jaded. However, things are clearer when you take off the blinders and see the benefits you did not think were there.

  4. A true sign of sportsmanship on Matt’s part…and that’s what it’s all about πŸ™‚

  5. Great points Patrick and great post also Matt πŸ™‚

  6. Kris Rogers says:

thanks Patrick for bringing Matts post to our attention. I agree. This “game” is more than just surfing. Its also the social aspect as well. Bringing us together for the one cause..to win πŸ™‚

  7. Stephen Whittle says:

    Great post Matt!

  8. Forgot to say… as it says in CTP teams we are players and it has nothing to do with top surfers, …the key here is the XP’s and there are plenty of ways to get that, timtech.me rewards is one and purchasing sometimes is one and ofcourse collecting while surfing….so as long as all is legal…every way to get XP’s is a “tactic” like it or not πŸ™‚

  9. Howard Fullmer says:

Great job Matt your blog is inspireing

  10. Patricia Hedge says:

I think Matt’s post demonstrated his high level of integrity.
    Good on you Matt!

  11. Myra P says:

I totally agree with Patricia and also tweeted Matt’s post πŸ™‚

  12. Good stuff Matt. And back also to the subject of the post…being part of a team is far far more than the surfing and the competition, but also the learning and the growing we experience by learning to shape ourselves…into a team, with goals, passion, and our own sense of team personality.

I’m loving the process and get more excited about it each day.

  13. Selya Rollins says:

Great posts , both Patrick and Matt.

  15. Gary Calvert II says:

The team I am on (WUN CTP Team), the members of our team seem to all agree (at least the ones in our skype room), that our bigger picture is social interaction with each other. And of course, most of us chat while we surf. πŸ™‚

  16. Great posts indeed Patrick and Matt!
Like in the football a single player can decide a goal but can’t win the game all by himself. The team makes you stronger, wiser ,more confident in yourself. There are big chances that your team mates will be your future business partners.Like John C. Maxwell says:A lot of people interract, few people connect. So think of the ways you can connectSkype is the first step.NUGGET:)

  17. Matt’s post seems to be gone. πŸ™

Finding the balance between the team, surfing, and the real work that keeps us in business can be challenging some days. The support of each member really helps.

  18. Thank you Patrick for staying on the positive side in your posts each day. Knowingly or unknowingly you inspire all of us to do better as teams and with our communications. It is great fun to compete each day and see who the new movers are. Again, Thank you Patrick

  21. Virginia Herron says:

Being able to give away XP now should also be of use for awarding it for businesses too. πŸ™‚

  22. I guess I will have to say one of the things that keeps me from giving up is all of the friends I have made and all of the encouragement that people give each other.

  23. That infectious smile of yours comes across even in your writing, Patrick. Thanks for a great positive message to get us through another day and, perhaps, through days to come. Cheers mate!

Great posts, Patrick and Matt. And I love the comment by Evelyn to love the haters into submission–they’ll soooooo hate that!

Congratulations to all of the teams who make the CTP teams a great experience. I have met some great new people, and this experience is what makes it worthwhile to me. Just thought I would “point” that out.

Well written piece. Just remember, with out the negatives, sometimes it is harder to appreciate the positives. Matt is a great leader and does a fine job calling the shots of the Surfaholics(get it, shots!).

WoW Patrick, we all are thoroughly enjoying…!!!

It’s now a new way of life with so many happy members….

I am sure we are going to have many more interesting days ahead….
