I think I am a bit addicted to keeping track of CTP Teams stats these days. I worked out earlier this week that Lucky 13 would reach the 100 billion points mark sometime late this evening and I wanted to be around when it happened…even if it was at nearly 2am on Saturday morning my time.
I also predicted that this would be a two member club and no other team is even close to getting its membership card any time soon.
On form Alphas are masters at making the most of any advantage they earn and the entire team used the Black Friday points bonus to gain points at an utterly unprecedented level.
They have been gaining one billion points every 15 minutes today and this rate meant that as Lucky 13 were closing in on 100 billion, they were going for 200 billion points – a record breaking milestone they have now comfortably passed.
SurfAholics Alpha take teamwork to a whole new level and if you want some insight into their way of thinking then you really should check out their team blog post from earlier today. (There is a link to it at the end of this post.)
Apart from the huge numbers, the top three teams will end the week in the same order that they entered it. CTP Renegades are currently in fourth – four billion points ahead of Kore4 in fifth – but Kore4 has more bonuses so they may be able to move up one place before Sunday evening.
The biggest battle though is two places below, where sixth placed The Strays are “only” 0.5 billion points ahead of CSN in seventh position.
These last two weeks have been amongst the most exciting ever in CTP Teams but as the mega bonuses from the Black Friday sales disappear this week, the numbers should get back to normal. So while the points totals may be lower next week, I have no doubt that the intensity of the competition will not be in the least bit diminished.
