Where CTP Teams Go YouTube Follows

CTP Teams broken counter screenshot

I am sure that everyone remembers back in October when Lucky 13 and SurfAholics Alpha managed to break our counter when they scored so many weekly points.

They had reached that magical number of 2,147,483,647, a number, beyond which, many computer processors are simply unable to count.

Then in November The Alphas did it again when they clocked up  4,294,967,295 weekly points – but we managed to fix that too and nobody has managed to break it since.

Well now it seems that exactly the same thing has happened on YouTube where Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ video has recently clocked up 2,147,483,647 views and caused YouTube’s counter to suffer the same fate as happened to CTP Teams.

The YouTube counter error even got a mention in the Washington Post – maybe they might want to check out this blog because we got there first!

Thanks to Tim for spotting that one – I wouldn’t have had him down as a Washington Post reader though.
