For a while now one tactic of SurfAholics Alpha seems to have been to let the other teams do the running and then pounce on them at the last minute.
Team leader Matt revealed on TELive on Tuesday that this strategy nearly failed spectacularly on Sunday when he forgot to do his secret last minute thing on time.
I don’t know if that has anything to with the team strategy this week but the Alphas are making their move early…very early indeed.
They are currently at 500 million points or thereabouts which is almost double that of second placed Uber Surfers. In fact they have more points right now than Uber Surfers and third placed Lucky 13 combined.
Interestingly both of the top two teams seem pretty evenly matched on paper right now so what is going on?
- Both have 24 of 25 members
- Both are excellent at CTP Teams
- Both have more or less the same amount of bonus points right now
So have the Alphas peaked too soon? Are the Uber Surfers lulling them into a false sense of security? Has the game of cat and mouse been turned on its head? Will Lucky 13, who are not too far behind Walter’s team, be the ones to watch this week? Who knows but it is very interesting to watch.
