Make Way For Bigfoot – Massive Event As Countdown To Bigfoot Badge Hunt Gets Underway

When Bigfoot comes to town then everyone makes way for him…and when badges are involved then it is all the more spectacular.

Starting at 4pm Eastern tomorrow (Friday) we are going to pave the way for Bigfoot to take our corner of the internet by storm.

The countdown to the rapidly-approaching Bigfoot Badge Hunt begins with the Make Way For Bigfoot Event which takes place from tomorrow and runs right through until Monday.

Our small but dedicated team of Bigfoot trouble shooters have been working overtime to ensure that everything is ready for this big event.

They tested things on StartXchange yesterday with the power surf event which brought a few issues to light; thankfully they have now been ironed out.

So to welcome Bigfoot with his stash of 180 badges we are bringing nerdiness back big time. It is always cool to be a nerd but for the duration of this event we want you to throw your arms into the air and shout at the top of your voices: “Hey Bigfoot, I’m proud to be a nerd and I’m coming after your badges.”

Then you, your team  and the CTP community as a whole can do what CTP nerds do best…nerd surfing.

Load up your favorite nerd surf sites and get to work to welcome in Bigfoot.

Here are the details…

The Make Way for Bigfoot Event
Starts: Friday at 4PM EST
Ends: Monday at 4AM EST

The Bigfoot Badge Hunt is coming to town on Monday but the Make Way For The Bigfoot Event is just hours away.

Getting the individual bonus looks very achievable. But if I did the numbers right is will take an average of 20 team members qualifying for the individual to get the team bonus. It will be interesting to see how many teams do that.

I suppose that if you had participated in a badge hunt before, the details that you gave would be somewhat helpful, but I am new to te sites and have never been in a badge hunt, it sounds like a lot of fun and I do love to collect badges so I will enjoy what ever comes my way while it is going on, but there is a lot that I am sure I will have a hard time understanding and I am grateful to my team for helping me out with the other details.

Wendy, log in to Click-Track-Profit and look for the tab at the top of the Dashboard page that says “Nerd Surfing,” that will tell you all about what you need to do this weekend.

Looks good. If all works according to plan, the Lucky 13 has a couple of options. 20 members getting the 10% bonus, 10 members getting a NerdSurf 1000 badge or just convince one member that they need a NerdSurf 10k badge.

Stay tuned for what actually happens…:)

  13. I can’t wait also for Bigfoot Hunt.

  14. The massiveness of it could be a challenge or part of a process in participation.

How does that Personal/Team/Overall Goals tracker bar work?

Just spent an hour nerd surfing and no credit at all. Still shows me as 0 of 500 towards my personal goal. Sometimes that shows up with a red strike-through. I have almost reached that 500 mark.

Does anyone know how/if that thing works? Have tried reading everything I can find regarding this Big Foot game, but nothing I’ve found says anything about that bar…

Does anyone from TimTech read these comments or should I open a support ticket?

    • Mike says:

I didn’t realize at first that the red strikethrough seems to mean I’ve completed my goal… I think. Some details about how this is supposed to be working would really be awesome for those of us who haven’t spent a lot of time surfing TimTech TEs.

Example, the counter didn’t measure my progress between 0 and 499… And I just refreshed the page and the counter went from showing me as completed to now back to “0 of 500”. Went and tried it in IE, (I normally use Chrome) and it seems to be behaving the same way.

Still wondering whether this tool bar is supposed to keep track click-by-click, or if it just periodically updates the totals. I can see that the overall count is increasing, but my Team goal still shows 0. As I’ve already completed my personal 500, shouldn’t that total show as part of the team goal completed?

So, this is what I missed with my busy weekend.
