SurfAholics Alpha Predict They Will Win First Ever Annual CTP Teams Contest

I think almost everyone is aware that there are three simultaneous contests ongoing within CTP Teams…the weekly, monthly and annual contests.

We talk about the weekly and monthly contests all the time here on this blog but, so far, little has been said about the annual one.

I think it is fair to say that many of the top CTP Teams are already eying up this contest and would love to claim the first one as their own.

Sometimes teams do not want to publicly state their long-term ambitions, maybe in case they fail to achieve their goal or maybe for other reasons entirely.

However there is no such coyness with team SurfAholics Alpha who are quite happy for anyone to know that they want to win the first annual CTP Teams competition.

Writing in their team blog recently, member Patricia Hedge said: “With the dedication of our awesome team what is the only thing I predict will be different?…

“Making CTP History when we win the annual competition for the first time ever!”

I think it is great for a team to set out, in public, what they plan to do in terms of their overall ambition.

On present form they would certainly among the favorites to win it, but there will be more than a few teams who will try very hard indeed to prevent that from happening.

The blog post also contains a very interesting discussion about the new sKore feature and the collection of data generally…well worth checking out in full.

  2. A yearly competition?
When does it end and where is the leaderboard for it?

  3. Way to go on your goals! Good luck to you.

I like to run The Strays as more of a “behind-the-scenes” kind of team. It is fun to observe the happenings and quietly adjust things as needed.

    Rock On Teams!

  4. Good luck to the Surfaholics BTW lol

  5. Georgia Stewart says:

Wow – big goals. Keep surfing!

  6. steven schofield says:

  9. Lynn M says:

Well, good luck SAs. Lucky 13 has had an eye squarely on the annual prize since Day One too tho, so may the best team make it to the annual #1! πŸ™‚

  10. Sig says:

yup did see this the other day…Good luck, I know they can do it…they have some really good around the clock surfers too..and a nice leader..

And ofcoz they have a lot of backup from all the winnings to put in..

  11. The gauntlet has been thrown down!

  12. Ken Wolff says:

Go ahead all you hot shots…burn yourselves out. Slow and easy wins the race…who said that??? Somebody important or I would not have remembered it. Our team has all kinds of room for improvement. I am OK with winning the annual race a few years down the road.

  13. Charlotte says:

Winning the teamcompetions isn’t everything. The things you learn from being a member of a CTP team is what makes you a winner

    • Patrick Griffin says:

That is very true…which is why CTP Teams is of huge benefit whether you are top of the Premier League, bottom of the Competitive League or anywhere in between. People get out of this what they put in to it and different people have different goals and objectives.

  14. From the SurfAholics Alpha’s mouth to God’s ear…we shall see if He was listening… πŸ˜‰

  15. There are many good teams out there and I think it is more than ine who have the goal to win. SurfAholics Alpha is for sure one of them!

Goals are good! Good luck to all teams!

  17. Patricia Dean says:

Goals are important, whatever they are.

  18. Tom Wacker says:

Patrica Hedge is a friend and an under appreciated writer. She does a terrific job for the SAA.

In all reality, there is nothing particularly extravagant in Patrica’s claim. They are the clear front runners, and have proven they have staying power.

Has the Lucky 13 backed off from our mutual goal of winning the year? Not so anyone would notice.

I like it. If we had a locker room, we’d post that column on the wall:)

  19. Karen Kuty says:

Good luck to all the top teams, but, as always, Go Team Wake Up Now!

  20. Raj G says:

  21. well I wish good luck to them, hope we have a christmas party also lol.

  22. I agree with Karen Kuty. Wake up now works consistently and we have staying power.
