Leaders of rival CTP Teams actually talk to each other from time to time. I know this because Tom Wacker from Lucky 13 has revealed that he talks to Matt Badura from SurfAholics Alpha.
And by talk I don’t just mean trading insults on Skype such as:
- my team is bigger than your team
- my team is faster, stronger has better dance moves and a better dress sense than your team
- your team only win when we let you win
- my team members don’t need help from their children when connecting to the internet
- my team have all finished the daily challenge by the time your team are still brushing hair and cleaning their teeth.
No they talk about interesting stuff such as “If we were building a team from scratch how would we do it?” Wow real grown up stuff. Very impressive.
Tom says you need to decide your course of action, dedicate yourself to that course of action and then do whatever is necessary to make it happen.
Sounds like good advice to me.
Tom also poses a very interesting question indeed…let’s say you are not on a CTP Team but you want to be. How do you decide whether it is best to start your team or join an existing one?
Well here are some of the points Tom would like you to consider:
- Building a team is going to be harder at the start but you get to build the team you want.
- Joining an existing team will be easier at the start but there could be problems down the road.
- Both can get you to the very same place but it is not just a matter of tossing a coin so decide carefully.
- Remember that the goal is to make the Premier League and STAY.
Then Tom gives some specific advice on deciding whether joining a team or starting a team may be the better option. Read what he has to say for yourselves on his blog: CTP Teams: Rise to Prominence
Great advice.
I agree that communication is good not only between team leaders, but also between everyone on each team. Getting everyone on the same page takes time and finding the dedicated souls who seem to give every waking moment to the team is quite a chore. I am very pleased to say that we have a nucleolus of folks who really care about the team concept without that group it wouldn’t matter if we had 25 members or 125 we cold never accomplish our goals. Thank you team Kore 4 for all the support that comes from the “core.”
I couldn’t agree more…well explained.

Alaways good for a chat is Tom 🙂
Matt is a great guy and we sometimes chat also. We are on opposing teams but it doesn’t matter. We realize we have the same ideals for a team. No big deal and all in good fun.
Excellent advice.
Great comments Patrick and Tom. The purpose of forming a team is to accomplish a common purpose together with every member contributing to the attainment of that goal. The real win comes from what you learn and become as a person, as you learn how to achieve those targets and goals together.
One of our teams goals is to be # 4 in the premier league and hold it until we are ready to scale the great heights to the top three.
Today we find ourselves struggling way down in 16th place. But that’s just the evidence, it’s not our vision an as long as we hold to our vision, the evidence will change. The vision is the constant, and we intend to be our vision.

Excellent stuff Nick. Your team is certainly one to watch.
They say there is no “I” in team. It takes everyone working together to do their part. I completely agree that there needs to be good communitcation. I heard from my team leader this morning. I like these tips to know what course of action I am going to take to make our team better.
Great Advice – when you can get team players talking and motivated…good things happen 🙂
Tom knows what he’s talking about.A great leader indeed.
Great advice from a great leader that Tom is.
Some of the concepts referred to in this post could just as easily be applied to world politics.
International politicians on CTP Teams…now there is an interesting idea. P
On one of my very first dates with my husband, Steven, he said, very randomly I might add… “When I become king, I’m going to change the spelling to “teim” That way there WILL be an I in Teim.”
hmmm Teim Tim Tech…sounds good.
CTP Teams is all about working together and achieving common goals. I know because Serge Team leader from plus one everyday is always communicating with me and giving me tips and too the team.
good stuff…and yours is another of the teams to watch. P.
.
yeah!
communication is very important in all spheres of life!
.
I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised that Matt and I talk. We certainly don’t share secrets, but do talk about how to make our respective teams better.
Well, I did try to share a secret with him once, but he thought maybe I wasn’t sincere…
I also tried to share a secret with Matt once and he replied: “Yes, I know, Tom has already told me.” 😉

Great post & great advice.
Two astute leaders indeed. I think I can probably speak for the majority of the Lucky 13 team in saying that we all have a great deal of respect for Matt and appreciation of his leadership. And he’s a pretty fun guy to put up with me and Sunny (especially Sunny hahahaha) 😀
Good and interesting it is indeed.
Respect to them both!
Great advice.
Great advice!
