So here we go.  The first ever TimTech all playoffs All-Star Team.

The criteria for inclusion on this team is simple.  Those that scored the most got the biggest consideration.  Even more important was nomination by a team member or team leader.  The highest tribute is a nomination from an opponent.

These players were all nominated for the honor by their compatriots.

These are the people that drove an incredible competition that was the first round of the Playoff season.  In honor of their contributions the will receive a special badge specifically for the All Star team and never to be seen again.  Thanks to Bill Gorsci for the badges.

Jon Olson announces the latest addition to the TimTech team on New Nerd Tuesday at TELive

The Emperor has returned.

Tom Wacker, the former emperor of TimTech, is back.

The news was announced by Jon in today’s “New Nerd Tuesday” edition of TELive.

Tom has been a regular in the TE community for some time now and is well-respected by all, so he makes an ideal new addition to the team.

Tom will be the latest addition to the TimTech support team so if you send in a support ticket it may be that you get a reply from our former emperor.

Jon said: “We are delighted to have Tom as part of the team. He knows this industry inside out and has always been a loyal supporter and friend to TimTech.

“Being part of this community is important to all of us at TimTech and so Tom really is an ideal fit and it is a very exciting day for us when we are able to welcome a new nerd to our community.”

One of the first questions we got was whether Tom will now step down from Lucky13.

As far as we are concerned that is totally up to Tom. If he wants to stay with the team then that is fine by us but if he wants to join The OutKasts, the team that can never win, then we are cool with that too.

So welcome on board Tom. It is going to be great.


Sometimes the time is right to do things really big…and this is just one of those times.

Exactly how many pages after 1,000 to find the badges will vary…but they are there and they are being claimed already.

It is sad that very often in certain sections of the online community there are a lot of people who are all talk…and very little more than that.

It is easy to say you will do something, but often it is not easy to actually follow through.

Well when Jon announced in TELive recently that he would help promote owners who bought certain promo packages with TimTech he had every intention on following up on that offer.

Sig and Bradley at Sea Life Hits were quick to take up Jon’s offer and yesterday you may have seen the video he put together to coincide with them having the Daily Challenge yesterday. (In fact Sea Life Hits has the Daily Challenge every Thursday this month for all you advance planners out there.

We would have done this earlier but we thought that Melvin had more than enough on his plate so until now we had not told him about Twitter.

Can you believe that he didn’t know what a hashtag was until last week?

Well actually he did but he was using them all wrong. However Jon quickly got him up to speed and he is now free to tweet away to his heart’s content.

Feel free to join in the conversation too and also to ask questions and generally make it a two way process…just as social is meant to be.

When Melvin is online he loves to talk. Face-to-face he can be a bit nervous and shy sometimes, but online there is no stopping him from chatting away.

First Some Background…

Doing gamification badly when you don’t truly understand what it is you are doing and how each individual game element interacts with each other is a recipe for disaster. The simple truth is that bad gamification can be worse than no gamification at all and can really hurt your business.

CTP Chat Ads

Want your ad to show in StartXchange, ILoveHits, Sweeva, and ThumbVu chat? Then you need a chat ad! Your ad will show a few times every hour so every member chatting sees your latest promotion.

These adverts really do get seen because people pay attention in the chat areas of our traffic exchanges. We are bringing in hundreds of new members to CTP and to our traffic exchanges every day and many of these members are looking for programs to join and upgrade in.

Just the other day a new arrival to the CTP traffic exchanges asked in chat what Kore4 (our ultimate upgrade offer) was all about and when an existing member explained it to them the new member asked for a referral link and signed up right away.

That is not a one off, by the way, it happens all the time. Obviously you don’t have time to spend chatting all day so let a chat advert do the talking on your behalf.

How It Works:

1. You bid for your advert to get seen in StartXchange, ILoveHits, Sweeva, and ThumbVu chat for 24 hours.

2. Bidding is made using CTP Tokens and the highest bidder is the person who gets their ad seen.

3. To make a bid then log into CTP and go here: I Want To Bid For Chat Ads

4. Next you will see six spots where you can bid for one (or more) of the next six days. If there are already bids for these days then they will be shown. Under “Ad URL” place the link for the URL you want people to visit when they click on your advert.

Under “Ad Text” place the text you would like to appear on your Chat Ad

In the box marked “Bid” you will see that a suggested amount is already filled in. If you are happy with that press the “Bid” button at the bottom of the screen. If you want you can change it to any value you choose, as long as this value is not lower than the minimum bid value shown, before pressing the “Bid” button to submit your bid.

7. If a member outbids you, your tokens will be returned to you and you will be informed that you have been outbid so that you can bid again! Whoever has the highest bid gets the chat ad! It is as simple as that.

In the example above, you can see the Chat Ad on the bottom in blue. The interesting thing is the discussion above…everyone is talking about the advert which has just appeared. So if they are talking about the ad then they are looking at it and if they are looking it then you can be sure that some are also clicking on the link to find out more.

Would you like more than 1,000 of the most active and loyal marketers online to see your site? Then bid on the daily CTP Member Spotlight!

One of the aspects of a well-oiled gamified system is that it encourages members to complete certain tasks that the site owner want them to complete.

At TimTech we want our members to log in to CTP each day and use the site, so we reward people for doing exactly that.

You can just look at the home page of CTP to see the daily stats which show that it is working.

For example this post is being written at 9am Eastern and already:

– 105 new members have joined CTP

– 493 people are online right now and

– 1,056 people have logged in this morning alone!

If you manage to get the CTP Member Spotlight then your page is the first page that people get to see when they log into CTP for the first time.

Everyone who logs into CTP sees your page first and when they have viewed it then they can click a link to take them directly to CTP.

It works and it works very well, especially if you target your offer or promotion to those offers and promotions that CTP users really like.

Combining a CTP Member Spotlight with an XP Promotion works particularly well for example. See for yourself by logging into CTP every day to get a feel for the type of promotions that other members are using. However if you need any guidance then remember that we are here to help.

How It Works:

This is also determined by the same bidding process as shown above for CTP Chat Ads.

1. You bid for your site (eg your offer, of affiliate splash page, website, opt in form or blog) to get seen in first by CTP members when they log in. The winning Member Spotlight page is shown for a full 24 hours; that is that no matter what time the member logs in during that 24 hour period they will see your page before they can proceed to CTP.

2. Bidding is made using CTP Tokens and the highest bidder is the person who gets their page seen.

3. To make a bid then log into CTP and go here: I Want To Bid For The Member Spotlight

The Subgame Promo is similar to the Vault & Keys Promo above and is a proven way to get tons of awesome sauce people surfing your traffic exchange all day long.

Once again our Subgame Promo partners get front page billing on CTP for the entire day of the promo and here we can have four partners each day. The idea is that surfers to your traffic exchange will collect mines – a different color mine at each exchange.

CTP Daily Challenge

Daily Challenges are another fun element within TimTech and CTP…there really is a pattern here and we stick to it because it works well.

These special promos are for traffic exchange owners who already have incremental surf badges up and running. These are badges which are typically earned for surfing 50, 100, 250 pages etc and they can be claimed by members once a day.

The Daily Challenge is a promotion which also allows you get your site featured on the front page of CTP.

It is very popular with members of CTP Teams because by doing the tasks required by the Challenge they win increasing amounts of XP for their team.

Currently many teams have a policy of always completing the Daily Challenge before they do anything else in order to ensure they get as much XP as possible to improve their team rankings.

Training Steps

One of the things that is easy to overlook is that CTP is actually a training program for people who are new to the traffic exchange industry and new to setting up in business for themselves online.

Also it is a training program with a proven track record and one that really works. We have seen people come from no experience online to being successful program owners and successful affiliates.

People who thought they could never make even a single dollar online are now earning money week in and week out with CTP and TimTech.

Training covers areas including traffic exchanges, list building, tracking, use of video and business skills.

From time to time there programs are added and removed from CTP so that the training always remains relevant and fresh.

So I made it back to Justin’s house the other day…well kind of anyway.

Tim and Larry turned up at Justin’s place for a business meeting and I made a guest appearance by webcam.

Look here I am in a picture that Tim tweeted out yesterday:

That is me in Justin’s super reclining massage chair…it is like the first class seat of an airline except with more buttons to press and much more functions.

However do you want to know the real irony about all this? Well when I actually was at Justin’s house in November I didn’t once take the opportunity to try out his chair!


Jon Olson reviews 2014 te community in HEN

Jon Olson has ended the year in his customary way by reviewing 2014 from the point of view of the traffic exchange community.

He points out that traffic exchanges have been delivering traffic, in one form or another, since the late 90s, and while some love them and others hate them, they show no signs of going away.

In his blog post Jon paid tribute to the traffic exchange community, members of CTP Teams and the audience which still flocks to TELive every day.

Speaking of CTP Teams he wrote: “…the awesome sauce people that make up CTP Teams. Seeing and working with these folks each and every day this year made me so confident in the future of traffic exchanges.”

He singled out Lords of Lothar as the best new traffic exchange of the year and named Kore4 as his favorite product of the year with Landing Page Monkey coming a close second.

The Legacy Hits team was named as traffic exchange owners of the year for their dedication, constant promotion and for the way they look after their members.

Looking ahead to 2015 Jon wrote: “…2014 has opened my eyes to the crazy industry that we all love so much. We’re still here. We are still growing. We are still delivering the hits. Let’s make 2015 the best year and continue to show the world how powerful the traffic exchange can be!”

Justin Ledvina on TELive 270814

Justin has never made any secret of the fact that he is not a huge fan of the name ‘TimTech.’

He thinks it sounds too old fashioned, gives the wrong impression of what the business is all about and is too ‘Tim’ centric.

In TELive on Wednesday, he said he would prefer something more modern, trendy and which encompassed what TimTech was all about.

He was just about to say something even more awesome and epic, or at least he looked like he was about to say something awesome and epic. However his feed was suddenly cut off by Spreecast’s Dastardly Demon of Vengeful Spitefulness, so we will never get to know what he would have said.

However you could give your views on what you would rename TimTech if you were in charge.

I have a feeling that the name TimTech is here to stay but it would be interesting to find out what alternate names you guys and girls come up with.
