Why It Is Simply Not About Being Easy

Eric Goettman got me thinking the other day when he wrote a blog post called Simple and Easy Don’t Mean The Same Thing.

I read the post and then thought that this is where so many people in this industry go wrong…they are overlooking simple in their futile search for easy.

Maybe as high as 99 per cent of people who come into the ‘make money online’ industry are only looking for ‘easy’ – if it also happens to be simple then so much the better – but it is the easy option they want every time.

In this context easy might as well be ‘lazy’ because this is the category of people who don’t want to do any work, they don’t want to invest in their business, they don’t really even know what it means to have a business and they don’t really care either.

They just want to get online and start making money because online is somehow magical and the normal rules of the universe don’t apply.

At TimTech we deliver simple and continually try to ram home the message that simple is good and easy is bad. How many times have you heard Jon say that the minimum time to stay with a program is one year?

Now while the program may be simple to understand, to sell to others and to use, this 12 month minimum commitment is not easy. However neither it is insanely difficult or even really difficult…it just takes time, commitment, dedication, passion and the need to make the odd sacrifice here and there along the way.

When Eric said that Simple and Easy don’t mean the same thing he could not have been more right.

    I have tried to commit to at least 6 months to see how a program will respond to my efforts. I can see that a year may be better or even longer.

    Simple is often ridiculously hard to do–counter-intuitive but true. But making things simple is far and away the best methodology for repeatable, high quality results (in my experience).

    How I wish simple were easy–but I have not found often found it to be so.

    I’ve been in an online biz since 1998 and have seen the HUGE influx of people come and go in their efforts to make the “easy” money – it is not easy but it can be simple if you research your market and follow the proven methods – the fact that there are so many who HAVE succeeded and are willing to give you the benefit of their knowledge is where succeeding online has become simple….
